FEMININE - THE FEMALE SIDE OF JAZZ

JazzCamp for Girls 2023 presented FEMININE - the female side of Jazz @ Stockholm Kulturfestival
FEMININE is a new minifestival with a focus on female jazz musicians, connected with the Swedish edition of JazzCamp for Girls. Its purpose is to give the young girls participating to the camp, the possibility to meet some of the Swedish and international artists who represent the female sound of the contemporary jazz scene. It’s the connection between the established and the potential new generation of women in jazz!

The trombonist, bandleader and composer’s new album has a special guest making it a quintet record. OPENING brings the wonderful Italian pianist Rita Marcotulli on board.
For this Stockholm concert for Feminine Festival, the young rising piano player Britta Virves will take Rita’s place at the piano. Two of the most interesting Swedish women in jazz.

Sisters in Jazz International
Friendships, Inspiration, Energy, Exchange, Network & Support for the female musicians
Sisters in Jazz was initiated to network international female jazz musicians. Sounds of Scandinavia, Middle & Eastern Europe and Asia float in the atmosphere.
For the first time in Stockholm, the collective will bring to Stockholms Stad Kulturfestival’s audience an energizing wave of fresh improvised music: the female side of Jazz!
